COLLABORATION WITH PATRICIA URQUIOLA ON THE CONCEPT DESIGN FOR SANTONI STORES
Opened in 2025, the New York store is an immersive experience that celebrates Italian excellence, the spirit of innovation and fine craftsmanship, set within an Art Deco atmosphere inspired by the city’s architecture. The pattern of the triangular windows of the nearby Chrysler Building is echoed in the metal grid of the ceiling, which in turn creates a rhythmic and sophisticated interplay with the three-dimensional panelling. The colour palette evokes warmth and hospitality, alternating shades of orange, terracotta and pink with metallic accents. Among the materials used, Italian marbles such as travertine and onyx stand out. The product displays are interchangeable and repositionable, ensuring spatial and organisational flexibility. In the basement, a long counter is home to a craftsman who offers customers a bespoke and maintenance service for their shoes.

Following the New York store, Beatrice Villata has adapted the concept for other Santoni stores around the world, such as those in Milan and Doha, always taking into account the context in which they are located. Further projects are currently underway.
